Sagittarius and Capricorn compatibility
Dhanu and Makara rashi milan · धनु और मकर
In Vedic guna milan, a Sagittarius (Dhanu) and a Capricorn (Makara) Moon sign score 5–6 / 4–5 of the 15 points that depend on the signs alone (the first figure when the man is a Sagittarius); with both birth stars the total runs from 7.5 to 26 of 36, and 56% of star pairs reach the classical minimum of 18.
The sign points (15 of the 36)
| Koota | Out of | Sagittarius man, Capricorn woman | Capricorn man, Sagittarius woman |
|---|---|---|---|
| Varna | 1 | 1 | 0 |
| Vashya | 2 | 1–2 | 1–2 |
| Graha maitri | 5 | 3 | 3 |
| Bhakoot | 7 | 0 | 0 |
| Sign points | 15 | 5–6 | 4–5 |
The sign lords are Jupiter and Saturn: Jupiter counts Saturn as neutral, and Saturn counts Jupiter as neutral.
The 2nd and 12th from each other (dwirdwadash): classically a Bhakoot dosha, read for shared money and spending habits, so Bhakoot gives 0 of 7.
Varna and Vashya depend on who is the groom and who is the bride, so the two directions differ.
With the birth stars (out of 36)
Each sign holds nine nakshatra padas: the full Ashtakoota (North Indian tables) for all 81 combinations.
