How these dates are computed

Sign changes are found to the minute from each planet’s sidereal (Lahiri) longitude; a retrograde or direct station is the moment its apparent motion stops. Our station times agree with Drik Panchang within about 15 minutes, and our sign-change dates with the published dates. Accuracy report

Almanacs use slightly different values of the Lahiri ayanamsa, so published times for Saturn and Jupiter can differ by 15–45 minutes, and for Rahu and Ketu by up to about 3 hours. The dates agree.
