Numerology calculator: mulank, bhagyank and name number
Indian numerology (ank jyotish) reads three numbers: the day you were born, your full date of birth and your name. Enter them to see all three, with the sums worked out.
How the numbers are found
- Mulank (psychic number): the day of the month, added down to one digit — 29 → 2 + 9 = 11 → 1 + 1 = 2.
- Bhagyank (destiny number): every digit of the date of birth — 29-12-1989 → 41 → 5.
- Name number (namank): the Chaldean value of each letter (A I J Q Y = 1, B K R = 2, C G L S = 3, D M T = 4, E H N X = 5, U V W = 6, O Z = 7, F P = 8), added and reduced.
Each number has a ruling planet: 1 Sun, 2 Moon, 3 Jupiter, 4 Rahu, 5 Mercury, 6 Venus, 7 Ketu, 8 Saturn, 9 Mars.
The nine numbers
Calmly
What a number means is tradition, offered for reflection. We make no promises about luck, and we do not sell name corrections, gemstones or remedies. Your kundli, made from the exact time and place of birth, says far more.
Questions
What is the difference between mulank and bhagyank?
The mulank comes from the day of birth only and is read for temperament. The bhagyank comes from the whole date and is read for the direction of life.
Why does the name number need English letters?
The Chaldean values are defined for the Latin alphabet. Write your name as you usually spell it in English.
Is numerology part of Vedic astrology?
Ank jyotish is a separate tradition that borrows the planets. It does not use the birth time or place, so a kundli is far more personal.
